New Work Benches

Do you remember the first time you admired the smooth, clean lines of a new workbench? How the weight and stability were ready to hold the work for any project you could dream of?  And the feeling it inspired that you could build anything?
As you know, this is the feeling we work to create with the 343 students who joined us in 56 different classes this year. We do not have enough space to meet the demand for our classes. Our Foundation courses fill a year in advance and have long wait lists. We want to give more people the opportunity to learn with us.

With the partnership of the First Federal Community Foundation, we have created a second teaching shop in the old Bakery Building at Fort Worden. The new shop is now warm and well-lit but lacks the most important tool a student needs - a sturdy and well-crafted workbench.

With a good workbench anything is possible Today, we ask for your support to help us build 10 student workbenches, a teaching bench and to fill the benches with high quality hand tools. Your end of the year donation will give our future students full access to the tools that they need to immerse themselves in learning the art and craft of woodworking.

Your generous gift will help complete a well-equipped workspace where future woodworkers will gain the skills and inspiration to create wonderful furniture, tiny homes, carvings or woodturnings. With your support, anything is again possible.
Our deepest thanks and warmest wishes for the holiday season,

Tim Lawson, Executive Director

PS.  Please join us this year end by mailing your tax deductible gift today in the enclosed envelope or by making a secure donation online at http://www.ptwoodschool.org/donations/. Thank you!
