Wooden Boat Festival

The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival is held annually on the second weekend in September. Come show off your hand plane skills or let this be your first time trying. Staff and faculty will be present to talk about current projects, courses, and the school’s mission.

Woodworkers Show

Master woodworkers from around the region display their art and craft at the American Legion Hall in downtown Port Townsend during the Annual Woodworkers Show, brought to you by Port Townsend School of Woodworking & The Splinter Group. This event typically runs the first weekend of November. Do you live on the Olympic Peninsula and want to show your work? Contact The Splinter Group.

Alumni Weekend

Join us for our second annual Alumni Weekend. All PTSW students and guests are welcome. This year we're keeping it simple with an afternoon hang at the 315 workshop with drop-in spoon carving with Tom Henscheid, followed by music and pizza in the evening. We're also inviting students to bring work to share. This could either be in process or complete. Come say hi and reconnect with your PTSW community of instructors and students.

Where: Port Townsend School of Woodworking at Fort Worden, Workshop 315

When: Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2-10pm

What:

  • Spoon Carving with Tom Henscheid around the fire from 2-5pm.

  • Student Work Showcase: Bring a piece of your work to share with the PTSW community! These can be either in progress or completed. We would love to see how you are using what you learned at PTSW in your own woodworking practice. Please indicate in the RSVP form if you would like to bring a piece.  5-10 pm

  • Dinner and Dancing: Southern American Old-Time and Cajun fiddle music by PTSW instructor Paul Denison’s band 'Le Va et Vient and pizza by Flutter-By Pizza Pie 6 to 9 pm

  • PTSW Trivia: Dust off your knowledge about the school for some silly prizes from 9-10pm.
