We invite people of ALL genders and races to come and learn fine woodworking. This is where beginners and intermediate students learn truly “fine” woodworking. Super sharp tools are provided for most beginner courses. We offer courses in fine joinery, built environment, custom furniture making, beginning machine or hand tool use, carpentry & carving styles of various cultures, turning, and coopering. Scholarships/VA funding available!

In this six-day course, each student will carve their own Okina Noh Theater mask from a block of wood to finish under the tutelage of master carver Hideta Kitazawa-san.

You’ll be walked through the basics of common shop machines such as the table saw, band saw, thickness planer, and jointer.

In this weekend class we will learn the basics of selecting and sourcing materials, how to prepare substrates, and various methods of applying veneers in a fast-paced, fun environment. Each student will make a small, square veneered tabletop, which can be later attached to a leg structure of your choosing.
