Many people who come to the school for the first time wish they had scheduled more time to explore the area. Port Townsend may be small, but we have a rich array of cultural events, artists, artisans, and natural beauty.
In the summertime, Port Townsend hosts an extensive series of music, performing arts events, and festivals.
You'll see many historic buildings built around the turn of the century when Port Townsend was expected to become the major port city. The downtown area has been well preserved and is home to locally-owned businesses.
Here is a rare opportunity to see Boat Haven & Port Townsend Boatyard, an active shipyard, open to the public that specializes in wooden boat maintenance and restoration.
The Olympic Peninsula is home to the Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic National Forest, the rugged Olympic Mountains, miles of picturesque coastline, and many mycological wonders.
