Tim retired as Executive Director of the School in June 2017. After a break from school, he returned to instruct courses in sharpening, finishing, and woodturning.

Tim graduated from the Intensive Furniture Making course at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine in 2001. From 2004 - 2008 Tim built sculptural furniture using a mixture of techniques including steam-bent double-tapered laminations; coopered sections (double-curved pieces made of solid wood); and traditional joinery.

"I draw my inspiration from winged creatures. The flick of a raised wing, the curve of a swan's breast and the open wings of a resting butterfly may all be seen in my work. I blend these graceful and powerful curves into elegant, functional furniture.

In 2017 Tim started wood turning inspired and taught by Bonnie Klein, Kim Winkle, and Beth Ireland. Tim creates furniture and bowls from locally collected wood.

Tim is passionate about the intersection of land conservation and working forests. He serves as Board Vice-President for Jefferson Land Trust and Chair of the Board of Managers for Chimacum Ridge Community Forest. “At the Community Forest, we are seeking to help create a cluster that unites the fellers, millers, builders, and makers, much like the Local Food movement, in creating a high-value add local wood economy.”
